Richie Kotzen "24 Hours" Review Plus Videos

Having the gig venue being replaced in around four days before the already scheduled date(October 23), is obviously an annoying experience for Richie Kotzen especially since it was Kotzen's New CD Release Party concert.

Since the date was already set, the guitar maestro moved the concert place from the House of Blues to Paladino still in the same date and moreover with the similar musical quality just as RK always provides.

Some good quality clips from that CD Release Party concert have already emerged on the net, so for those who didn't have the chance in watching it or even noticing about the concert could hear what's the new album was about. The New CD's title is "24 Hour", it's also the title track for one of the songs, which all are pretty kick ass, which kinda surprised me a bit as it kinda reminds me a bit of "Go Faster" record rather than Kotzen's latest two-three outings.

The Bluesy sound blended with that Rock element is pretty much what you'll be getting from the record along with the virtuoso guitar solos which Richie never seemed to ditch despite his departure from the so called more Guitar Heroes type of record. Another interesting that I noticed on the new album is his atonal scat singing in some parts of his songs, which is always cool, I know it's not uncommon from Kotzen but hearing in pretty much almost all of the tracks kinda feel refreshing.

Aside from some of the live videos that you can check, RK is actually kind enough to introduces the whole tracks on his official site for well, free showing. Yup, I don't know till when but obviously after checking em out you guys should really purchased the new album as it's clearly one of the best record that Kotzen ever made until now. Such a lovely voice, composition, guitar solos, it's a sort of rockin bluesy songs along with the usual bluesy-balladish ear catching stuffs would put your mood swings in a lovely way.

Martin Guitar's Headstock Becomes The Company'sTrademark

Just received an interesting information that should probably be more of a use for Acoustic Guitars manufacturers out there as from now on they might need to pay more attention on creating the headstock for their product as a classic design originated by Martin Guitars have become an exclusive right from now on.

This news was officially announced by the company themselves, via their official website and also from personal email send directly to my personal address, just recently.

Stating the reason for the trademarking of the headstock, the company's vice president, corporate operations, Gregory Paul, the item was pretty much a well known characteristic from Martin guitar's acoustic product for years now. So the guitar company believes that an attempt to copy the specific work of art could be resulting in making a confusion in the market, leading the customers in buying their not actually looking for.

“The clean, simple, iconic shape of the Martin guitar's headstock has long been recognized by consumers as one of the primary identifying brand and design elements of our guitars,”Said Gregory Paul “Use of this shape by others can only be intended to create confusion in the marketplace.”

Considering the company's long year or servant in the guitar manufacturing world (in the range of 175 years), it's pretty much understandable that they want to mark their territory further more. In those long years, the distinctive headstock itself have become an iconic property of Martin Guitar for 161 years, so by that time, the decided to register the design to the U.S. gov and it is now being protected by U.S. Trademark Registration No. 3,048,307.

So, any of you new local guitar manufacturers, just pay a close attention on the headstock pick that I've posted in this news just to make you aware of the possible violation you're doing. Dream Theater To Get 'Dramatic Turn' On September

Having already got the replacement for the departed Mike Portnoy with Mike Mangini's arrival, Dream Theater already on their way to release their latest album titled 'A Dramatic Turn Of Events', which is scheduled to hit the market on September 13th via Roadrunner Records.

All the tracks are supposedly done since the band have already announced the track list, but just like their guitarist, John Petrucci, said, the record are going into the mixing zone.

Promoting the new record, Petrucci, who also produced the "A Dramatic Turn Of Events", promised the fans that the songs from the upcoming outing is all amazing and the devotees should really checked em out. Meanwhile, Keyboardist, Jordan Rudess, stated that the album represent all of the band's energy and spirit that was a reflection from the recent events that the band members are having.

"I'm incredibly psyched with the way this album came out and can't wait to share it with everybody,We are currently in the mix stage with the great Andy Wallace and it's all sounding amazing!" Petrucci said.

"We have poured our hearts and minds into the creation of this album," Jordan Ruddes added. "All the life changing events that surrounded us before, as well as during the whole process, fueled our desire to dig deep within ourselves and create the best music we possibly could."

Surely for many die hard Dream Theater fans, the waits is to hear how Mike Mangini could blend his playing style into the band considering the time that the Progressive Metal act usually had with Portnoy. Mangini, who is a well renown drummer, have his own playing style that obviously will add some different characteristic compared to the previous drummer.

Personally, I haven't been following several of DT's latest outings, but I do hope with Mangini's addition they could once again provide an interesting record that can quenched thirst of many Dream Theater devotees out there. The new record itself will have 9 tracks, and definitely expect some crazy long musical minutes on the record, just like the Progressive Act always offers.

Ibanez Launched Steve Vai's 'Euphoria'

Ibanez's Acoustic guitar can't get classier with Steve Vai joining in the market by unleashing his own signature series the "Euphoria", a lovely product that should catch they eye especially with the classic flower pattern fret.

From the official description that Ibanez guitar revealed, Euphoria, that will supposedly goes shipping this month, have two models, the EP5BP and EP10BP.

The two products have a basic similar features such as a thin body, Engleman Spruce Top Mahogany Neck and Black Pearl High Gloss Finish, which makes it black and easy on the eye. As for the basic difference, well, physically the EP10 have the custom tree of life inlay in the fretboard while the EP5 have a VAI signature inlay placed on the 12th Fret.

Personally from the physical appearances, the EP10 looks more appealing especially for any Vai fans out there because it pretty much capture Steve's basic shape with the "Tree of Life" inlay. However, both of them notably possessed the same quality specs that won't let any of the buyers down as Steve himself noted,

"The new Euphoria is made to be sleek, thin, with a large acoustic sound. Its size gives it a bright crisp tone that allows it to sit on top of the mix,"

Pretty much an interesting option for any guitar lovers, or collectors out there, or maybe any players that are looking for a fine acoustic guitar that they can get their hands on. Euphoria does offers an appealing piece that worth looking for, especially being it's a Steve Vai product, that have a strong appeal in world wide music watchers.

Kirk Hammet: Metallica Already Thinking Of New Album

Metallica's guitarist, Kirk Hammet reveals that his band haven't started working on new materials as just yet as everything is still pretty much on their mind at the moment, although the guitar hero predicted that they might finished something in the end of October. Kirk explained about that news to Gibsonguitar's reporter, Shawn Fernandez, adding that he and his band might be performing the new songs at their upcoming concert in India, sometime in October.

Moreover, Kirk Hammet also stated that their hectic schedule is the main reason why they haven't managed to work out the time needed to start the new album process as something always comes up before anything could happen. However, the guitar master do believe that when the time is right, the new album will eventually finish without much problem, just like it's always have.

"As far as new material is concerned we're just now starting to think about writing new material. I guess if anything is going to be finished between now and the end of October," Kirk explained. "There's just a bunch of other things that we're doing right now. We keep telling ourselves that we're going to get 'round to start writing songs but, you know, something comes up."

It would definitely be interesting to see whether Metallica are indeed already close in working on their new stuffs and will it really arrives in October, as it would be a good thing for their die hard fans. In that interview, Kirk also revealed the story that has been told many times, about his student-teacher thing with guitar legend, Joe Satriani, stating that Joe really likes jamming with the Metallica axeman.

"I could tell that Joe really liked playing with me because we would always play longer than the allotted time," Kirk hammet added.

Video: Steve Vai Explains His "GuitarTV' Site

An interesting guitar site emerged to the scene recently, it was named "guitartv.com", already checked on it and it does look very exciting indeed, well obviously since the mastermind behind new web is the legend himself, Steve Vai.

Explaining about his reason in creating Guitartv, Vai said in an interview at Musician Institute, that it's one of his long time dream since maybe before he even started playing guitar (can't really know whether it's true or not, since Steve pretty much jokes around a lot )

Moreover, Steve also added that the GuitarTV site that shows streaming videos from inspirational guitarists along with short bio also links about their new records, gears, etc can hopefully provides inspiration for young guitar players or even all guitar players in keep playing their instrument. The guitar maestro in short stated that the new site is a sort of educational tool that help guitar heads in terms of inspiring them, not only that the web also contains performances from all kinds of music genres and everything is about guitar.

"guitartv is an educational tool, in the sense that whenever you see somebody doing something you could never imagine it's inspiring. Whenever you see somebody that inspires you, it will broaden your horizons. It gives you the incentive to achieve more than what you're capable of achieving," Steve said.

Videos: Greg Howe Live In Russia

Haven't been around in quite a while, got into a little bit hectic kind of situation lately so here I go back in providing the latest news about music, guitars, guitarist and all of those connected with it.

Here are some of the latest videos I've received from Greg Howe's Youtube site, two live performances that he did with Stu Hamm and Dennis Chambers in Russia, that were staged on early May.

There are two clips that Greg posted on his Youtube channel, the first one was "Bird's Eye View" and the other one was pretty much my all time fave from Greg, "Kick It All Over". Listening to the latter brings me back to that old high school days and early college time when I listened to that track a lot, along with other sensational guitar shredding records.

Always nice to hear the fine guitar song being played live, although surely improvisation is something that were visible on the video, still the main part of the track still remain the same. Birds Eye View also provides an interesting jazzy-fusion stuff that you can hear from Greg's latest outings, surely another excellent piece of entertainment for instrumental music fans especial guitar heads out there.

additional news: Greg along with Dennis and Stu will be performing another show together on August 3 in Italy, so any guitar lovers that lives in the country or happened to have a chance in visiting there do stop by at Monteroduny. The three super musicians will be playing at the Eddie Lang Festival and aside from the show, Greg Howe will also do several clinics during the festivals, which is scheduled on August 1,2 and 4.

Neil Zaza Annonced Album's Release Concert

Just as many guitar heads might already knew, Melodic guitar hero, Neil Zaza, has just released his latest instrumental piece titled "212", dropped in February 14 world wide. Celebrating that new record release, Neil has already prepared a special gig a as part of his promo which will be held on April 15, 2011 at the Kent Stage, Kent Ohio.

The new record itself contained around 11 tracks in total, including two bonus songs that should really give a more entertaining element for all melodic guitar lovers all around the world. Samples of the songs can be tune in on Neil's official reverbnation page, personally most of the new songs are very enjoyable just as many of the guitar maestro's previous stuffs.

Songs such as "Magnus 212", "King Of The World", "Is This Wonderland", etc will definitely blow your mind especially those guitar lovers that loved melodic instrumental stuffs. Personally, I think you don't need to be a guitar heads to really enjoy the songs from Neil's new album as it's so melodic that it would just get on your head and heart, simply mind blowing stuffs again.

Pretty much a good hear that will make you excited about watching the performance live, as the show would definitely be special since it's being staged at Neil's home town. Another unique thing that the guitar maestro added for the upcoming concert is pricing the ticket at $21.20 which is pretty much resembling the album title "212", that is inspired by Neil's special feelings for the number.

Just like the guitarist mentioned on his official blog, the reason he named the album "212" is mainly because his special connection with the 212 number that has been "accompanying" his journey for years. From discovering the number at the hotel, cashier, clock or even Studio, Neil Zaza then decided to dedicate his special bond with the number on his new record that really is an enjoyable melodic instrumental piece.

Jeff Beck Unleashed Les Paul Tribute Album (Listening Party Available)

Rocking n Rolling on Tuesday might be an interesting moment for some of you rock fans especially with the launching of Jeff Beck's new record titled "Rock 'n' Roll Party Honoring Les Paul".

Guitar Lesson: Practicing Mixolydian Scale (Modes)

Learning Modes is something that has been a common practice for today's guitarists as getting to know it provides lots of creative input that can help your practice more interesting and exciting. Picking up from many interest in practicing this scale, I provide an interesting study about the Mixolydian scale which is part of the Modes derived from the basic Major Scale progression which saw the fifth note being used as the root.

Understanding the Mixolydian

Just as I explained above, Mixolydian scale is actually one of the way to play the Major scale in a different root thus creating a new scale that can be used in improvising your guitar playing albeit playing the scale in it's basic root actually doesn't make much different. Making this explanation much more simpler, I'll take the C Major chord as the basic root, a Mixolydian mode from the C Major means playing the fifth note(the G note) as the root.

So a G Mixolydian is actually playing the C Major scale from the G note which won't actually sound that different if you are playing C Major as the basic chord, however should you try to play the G Mixolydian in a G Major chord it would sound much more interesting. Surely the Mixolydian part can be derived from any basic Major keys as the basic is making the fifth not as the root, but if some of you are still confuse basically the interval for playing a Mixolydian scale is 1—1—½--1--1--½--1.

As samples of the Scale's usage, here's some video lessons that I just picked up from the net with samples from Gary Hoey, Vinnie Moore, etc that will provide you some basic usage of Mixolydian scale or explaining Modes. Check this videos out for some more depth knowledge about applying this scale into any of your playing, solos, or whatever that you feel interesting.

Remembering Gary Moore

February 6, 2011, can now be noted as one of the saddest day for the guitar society as another legend has passed away on the day giving such a shocking grief towards the music fans. Gary Moore is the maestro that has now left the music world once and for all without giving more chance for us to ever see him performing anymore live shows after the Blues legend reportedly leave the big bad world during his Holiday in Spain.

The Official website of the Blues master release a note with a black background, describing the situation that looms among the people that have been supporting and working with the maestro. Surely, Gary's passing will be a great loss for many Blues music fans who have been enjoying lots of the guitarist' worked for many years now.

"It is with deep sorrow and regret, that we have to announce that Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain last night.

Our thoughts are with his children, family and friends at this sad time.

1952-2011" read a statement from Gary's official site.

Certainly more so for the virtuoso's die hard fans, who might even listened to his works since the guitar player's Thin Lizzy's days albeit it was a short stint. Going back further, surely Gary Moore's fans might have also checked out his past career at an Irish band called Skid Row (not to be confused with the popular hair metal group), where the maestro first burst up to the music scene at the tender age of 16.

Being honest, I'm not a big follower of Gary but just as many guitar players that got into the 80's music scene, Gary Moore's "Still Got The Blues" is pretty much the song that I listened, played and remembered till today. The track is one of those that stays in your head for a long period of time and it pretty much showed the legendary status of the artist that played the song, meaning that Gary Moore is surely someone that the music world should give lots of credit for.

Joe Satriani and Richie Kotzen's New Video

Yeah, haven't really been here in a while and been busy with some stuffs lately, but hey I'm back to provide you guys with more exclusive guitar and music thingy as much as I can. Here are some new latest music videos that I haven't been able to post due to my silly and Lazy schedules, working in a money oriented days lately guys, hopefully I will get more time to provide all the latest things that you've been longing for.

Here is Joe Satriani's official music video for "Light Years Away" taken from his latest album "Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards" and was premiered few months ago. Hopefully some of who haven't seen it can be pleased with the clip which was shot by Jon Luini, Chris Sentovich, and Boris Karpman and directed by Luini and Artus Rosato.

As for the second clip, it comes from Richie Kotzen, which is pretty much his own video covering The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes", this is something you guys should definitely listen to. The lovely acoustic live performance from RK was recorded with U87 microphone and SM57, it's a beautiful cover that I believe people should really listen.

Special Mr. Big plus Richie Kotzen Show Set To Burn Taiwan

Haven't been around for quite a while, but now I'm back with a very pleasant news for Mr. Big fans in Asia especially those that live in Taiwan as latest reports from the band's Facebook site stated that there will be a special performance in the country.

The thing that makes it special is the news that the concert, that scheduled to be held at FCU Sport Center on May 4, the original Mr. Big line up will be added with a special appearance from one of their former member, Richie Kotzen.

Personally, if this scheduled concert will definitely a special show that should not be missed as the collaboration of Paul and Richie on stage would cost a whole lot of electrifying energy. The whole music act minus, Eric Martin, have actually collaborated back in 2008 just before the original Mr. Big line up decided to reunite and it was already a wonderful thing to witness.

Paul, Billy, Richie, and Pat were jamming at one of the Guitar Generation gig that involves both Guitar Virtuosos along with George Lynch. They were playing one cover song that Mr. Big played at one of their most notable live show at San Fransico few years ago, which called "30 Days In The Hole", watching the clip gave me goosebumps back than when the band haven't reunite as just yet.

Surely this upcoming gig in Taiwan would provide tons of excitement for the fans there as not only Mr. Big always put out a special performance for the audience, Richie's addition to the gig should provide an extra push for the show. However, I'm still curious on whether RK would only play with the band or put out his own show as well. Either way this is something that really excites me and I do hope that they can do this kind of collaborative act more often, off course with Richie's own busy schedule things must be set in order as well but it's obviously a special thing that should be done often.

Mr. Big Premiered New Clip, To Release New Album in 2011

Reunited rock quartet, Mr. Big kept their promise in staying together and releasing a new album as the rockers have just unleashed a new music video earlier this week which is a representation of their new single "Undertow". The new clip was a bit similar to their latest outing, "Next Time Around" as the latest one also shown the band playing the song without using any models or much story background.

The song has a bit similar vibe to Mr. Bigs rock thingy such as temperamental,unnatural, and view other similar styling as it's not a ballad or fully technical stuffs such as "Colorado Bulldog", "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" or "Addicted to that Rush". It's a fun thing although maybe not as catchy as some of the bands previous works that are much remembered by many of their die hard fans, but it still possessed that bit of that Mr. Big element on it.

The good part is that "Undertow" won't be the only song on the new album that is being titled "What If" and set to be released in January 21 2010. Another song that could be among the 12 track is a single called "Stranger In My Life", which was played in a Q & A session on November 17 in London, England.

Listening to the rawness of "Undertow" makes me wonder of what kind of surprises that Mr. Big still have in store as I am starting to imagine would they go all wild like their previous 2-3 albums or tone down a bit like their records after Bump Ahead. The return of the band have already caused a moment of madness back than as the Internet world seemed to explode in finding the news of Mr. Big, so the upcoming new record will definitely has a special place in the music society.

Here's actually a pretty 'old' interview clip that was sent to me few months ago, don't really have lots of times in displaying it back than. So, I would really try to bring this clip again, it's an interview of guitarist, Kenny Olson, by Steve Kilgore and directed by Bob Coan.

Kenny, who is well known for his work with Kid Rock, reveals his experience working with other great musicians in his guitar playing career. However the fun part is the jamming he did in the middle of the clip in which you can see Kenny's exciting guitar playing, so Enjoy the clip and have fun!!

Jason Becker To Launch New Documentary Movie

Guitar legend, Jason Becker, who is known for his short spell of virtuosity in the performing guitar world due to his ALS syndrome that took away his ability to do normal things and especially playing guitar.

However, the legend amazingly shrug off all of that troubles and until today still makes music even with the disabilities his having.

This classic story of Jason's spirit and dedication to music is not a new thing for lots of guitar heads, however some people may still miss the chance of knowing the guitar maestro. For that purpose, some exciting people in the music world and also movie realm are working on a special project to release an official documentary movie of Jason's life that will be made by a special team.

In order to finish the project at the moment, at the moment the team are collecting funds to make this upcoming special documentary that will be filled with lots of special footage of Jason's playing career including the never been seen ones off course. The funds are expected to come from all of you Jason's fans all over the world as a special stuffs are set to be given for the help that you'll give, starting from the very minimum 5$ anyone can donate something for the legendary guitarist project.

Shocking News: Mike Portnoy Leaves Dream Theater

I was pretty much busy and caught up at work and some family issues this days, but the news that has just revealed to me by Dream Theater management themselves has really shocked me that I had to share this news to all of you guys. I have just found out that Mike Portnoy is leaving Dream Theater!!! yes leaving in means won't be continuing the relationship with the progressive metal act, and that's was pretty much a day or two after I just saw that nothing goes wrong with the band.

This news has really caught me off guard but reading an email saying:

"To all of our loyal fans and friends: It is with profound sadness -- regret -- we announce that Mike Portnoy, our lifelong drummer and friend, has decided to leave Dream Theater. Mike's stature in the band has meant the world to all of us professionally, musically, and personally over the years. There is no dispute: Mike has been a major force within this band."

Not to mention also the pretty long goodbye letters written by Mike himself on the official newsletter, it's all so sudden that I haven't really checked how would DT fans reacted with this news. Honestly I don't even know, whether the news has been found out by DT's die hard devotees earlier on as I was very busy this days. Well, anyway for those who doesn't have an access to Mikes' goodbye here is a snippet of that letter he wrote to the fans:

"I am about to write something I never imagined I'd ever write:

After 25 years, I have decided to leave Dream Theater....the

band I founded, led and truly loved for a quarter of a century.

To many people this will come as a complete shock, and will also

likely be misunderstood by some, but please believe me that it

is not a hasty decision...it is something I have struggled with

for the last year or so....

After having had such amazing experiences playing with Hail,

Transatlantic and Avenged Sevenfold this past year, I have sadly

come to the conclusion that I have recently had more fun and

better personal relations with these other projects than I have

for a while now in Dream Theater...

Please don't misinterpret me, I love the DT guys dearly and have

a long history, friendship and bond that runs incredibly deep

with them...it's just that I think we are in serious need of a

little break...

Dream Theater was always my baby...and I nurtured that baby

every single day and waking moment of my life since 1985...24/7,

365...never taking time off from DT's never-ending

responsibilites (even when the band was "off" between cycles)...

working overtime and way beyond the call of duty that most sane

people ever would do for a band...

But I've come to the conclusion that the DT machine was starting

to burn me out...and I really needed a break from the band in

order to save my relationship with the other members and keep

my DT spirit hungry and inspired.

We have been on an endless write/record/ tour cycle for almost 20

years now (of which I have overseen EVERY aspect without a

break) and while a few months apart from each other here & there

over the years has been much needed and helpful, I honestly

hoped the band could simply agree with me to taking a bit of a

"hiatus" to recharge our batteries and "save me from

ourselves".. .

Sadly, in discussing this with the guys, they determined they do
not share my feelings and have decided to continue without me
rather than take a breather...I even offered to do some
occasional work throughout 2011 against my initial wishes,
but it was not to be...

While it truly hurts for me to even think of a Dream Theater
without Mike Portnoy (hell, my father named the band!!),
I do not want to stand in their way...so I have decided to
sacrifice myself and simply leave the band so as to not hold
them back against their wishes...."

Okay seriously reading from Mike's letter I think one can only figured out that there's been one of those "stuck" feeling that the drummer felt during this recent years as there's haven't really been lots of break for the band. With the fact that Mike has also made some appearances with other bands lately, he also felt that there were some different vibes when working with others and pretty much there probably have been some break down in communication lately that led to the drummer's feeling a bit "bored" with his band mates.

Personally I find Mike's reasons were similar to the one when Bon Jovi or Mr. Big split apart few years ago, the thing I don't really find happening with DT as they were always on tour and looked to have fun. Haven't really seen them lately but they did just released a new album not long ago and nothing strange that I notice happened, however I do get more suspicious after Mike decided to do some appearances for other bands despite DT's promo and tour schedule, most notably surely the thing he had with Avenged Sevenfold lately.

With so many intensive musical works aside from his band that also have tons of schedule to fulfill kinda left me thinking a bit is Mike human or what??? That's pretty much tiring thing that he did lately, obviously with those amount of working time here and there, different neighborhood around all his projects, the "bored" is just waiting to happen.

Not blaming anyone as the departure seems to be something that has been discussed and agreed by both parties, however it will be weird seeing Dream Theater without Mike around. I'm looking forward to see how does it goes, to bad this is not April, as I wouldn't make a fuss about it if it was some of that April Mop thing, however this looked real.

I think someday, they will all reunite again somehow especially when Mike finally found that "love" and passion working with Dream Theater again. Until then, quoting the last words from Mike's goodbye letter to the fans... "Move on be brave, don't weep at my grave, because I am no longer here... Joe Satriani Set New Album's Release Date

The latest updates regarding Joe Satriani's new album has finally arrived as the guitar maestro, recently revealed the news via his official newsletter confirming about the new record's title and its release date. According to the email, Joe's new record will be titled Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards and it will be released to the market on October 5.

The record, that once again have a unique title, will have about 11 tracks and song titles such as "Light Years Away", "Wormhole Wizards", "Premonition" and many others that you can at the bottom of this news. Helping the guitar legend, on the record Joe have the likes of Jeff Campitelli on drums, keyboardist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) and bassist Allen Whitman (Mermen)

The new album will definitely be something that Satch's fans has been waiting especially after the guitarist have been very busy with Chickenfoot lately, kinda make the devotees misses his instrumental works. Joe himself has also promised that the new album will blow you away by stating, "I love this new record, and I know
you will too!"

Aside from revealing all the latest details about the new album, the guitar master also share another interesting story which is his involvement in Brad Pitt's upcoming movie, "Moneyball". Joe was being asked to recreate his 2002 season opener national anthem that apparently is being used as one of the scenes for the movie.

Explaining about his involvement on the flix, Joe said, "Last week I spent the day at Oakland Stadium with Brad Pitt and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. They're filming a movie called "Moneyball" about the Oakland A's. I was asked me to re-create my 2002 season opener National Anthem for the film. It looks to be a very cool movie focusing on the A's executive Billy Beane. I dressed in 2002 gear, and even used my older equipment. All in the name of authenticity."

Gary Hoey Ready To Unleash "UTOPIA"

Fender guitar instructor, Gary Hoew, has prepared to unleash his new album titled "UTOPIA" in just the coming days as according from his official mail, the guitar maestro will be releasing the record on August 24.

Slash To Release Australian Tour Live Recording

Inspired by his latest live recording in Manchester, former Guns N' Roses' guitarist, Slash, prepares another same kind of project for his upcoming Australian shows. The three shows that will be recorded by the renown guitarist are the concert at Melbourne (August 11), Brisbane (August 12) and Sydney (August 16), the record will be created on a limited double disc CD sets.

The upcoming recording is being touted to follow the previous Manchester live recording session that has reportedly been sold out in such a short time, the Australian live recording will also get a full mixing and mastering. The upcoming album is also being set to get a special DigiPak cases which will surely make things look awesomely good to save them.

This album reportedly can be purchased on-line and also at the guitarist' concerts, for those who have the opportunity to watch any of his shows could just get them through all the procedures being set up. A live recording method is a normal kind of marketing products created by lots of musicians during tour, to provide an exciting tour vibes for fans that like to hear those kind of show.

Steve Lukather To Release New Album In October

Exciting news comes from Guitar legend, Steve Lukather, as he reportedly is finally ready to release his new album titled, "All's well that Ends well", in two different dates, the European and Japan release is being set apart from the U.S. one. For the European and Japan dates, the new record will be dropped on Monday, October 11, this year, while for U.S. fans they will be able to purchase the album in February 2011.

From the latest information received, the upcoming new record, set to be dropped via Mascot Records, will have about 9 tracks which all of them are being co-wrote by Luke and his friends. Commenting about his new album, Luke stated that he is very excited about it and confirm that the fans will hear about 50 minutes of enjoyable music from the former TOTO guitarist.

"I’m very excited because I have some great new music. I tried for a personal best and worked very hard on all aspects of music. It’s a journey that’s for sure. It is a VERY personal record. You have to check it out in October and tell ME." Luke stated, "There is plenty of music on there, almost 50 minutes. That's ENOUGH. Records used to be no more than 38 minutes tops! Keeps your attention.”

Video Premiere: Extreme's "Run"

After releasing "King of The Ladies" not long ago, Boston Funk Metal act, Extreme, streams another new video from their latest album "Saudades of Rock" (released in 2008). The new clip being posted on the net is for a song titled "Run" and it's pretty much shoot during their tour in Asia, possibly Japan as you can see a Tokyo sign on the video.

The clip shows the band's performance at one of the tour as they were singing the song track, aside from the band's live stage act, on the video you can also see some footage of the rockers on their travels and back stage previews. It's a sort of that normal live footage clips that are usual for rock bands that most music fans should pretty much seen before.

Greg Howe Teams Up With Billy Sheehan For DiMarzio Day

An interesting news comes from guitar virtuoso, Greg Howe as through his official news letter the guitarist announced that he will be teaming up with legendary bass player, Billy Sheehan to perform at DiMarzio day. Greg stated that the event will be staged at MI (Musicians Institute) on September 2 and not only Billy, the guitar master is also being accompanied by Marco Minemann on drums.

However, from the news letter it's actually still unsure whether, Billy and Greg will perform together on stage as the confirmation suggested that both will perform with Marco. So if you want to be sure, just visit the music institute on that date, book your seats and see for yourself what kind of entertainment you will be having there.

Beside performing at DiMarzio day, Greg will also involved at the Eddie Lang Festival set to be staged on August 3-6 in Monteroduni, Italy. The guitarist will perform a show only on August 6, while from August 3-5 he is scheduled to do master class session at the festival, this is surely another worth watching event for guitar heads in Italy.

Richie Kotzen Re-Mixed "You Can't Save Me"

Having some spare time to fool around can be used to do lots of new stuffs, just like what Richie Kotzen did lately or maybe his friends as the guitar virtuoso introduce a remix version of his "You Can't Save Me". The new version adds a dance mixture that puts your mind on some club as it is a sort of DJ re-mix version, which sound well pretty okay if you're in to that kind of music, although I kinda likes it even I am not a party freak.

From what I can get out of RK's statement, this remix version was interpreted by ’Clarence Jey’ and ‘Steve McLeod’, well here is a quote from the guitarist's official site regarding this new version. Chris Borederick's New Guitar Lesson (Video)

Just running into a great guitar lesson video the other day, which is Megadeth's Chris Broderick exciting showcase on the Internet. The six minute plus video comes from Guitar World and sees Chris playing tons of interesting and amazing solo licks which incorporated virtuoso skills such as sweeping, tapping and other cool stuffs.

From the short clip streamed, I had a very very interesting input about how to incorporate right hand techniques for guitar playing as Chris doesn't only gives an example but also provide a clear information about it. Never really knew that he had such a great right hand tech, very clean, compose and exciting playing from the Megadeth' axeman.

Another interesting aspect explained by Chris on the clip is the usage of an interesting special thumb pick that he uses for playing, the pick is somehow attacked on his thumb and it pretty much allows him more space to work out his right hand. The guitar virtuoso also explained that the special pick also helps him develop a much more comfortable picking techniques that allows him to use more of his wrist than before.

Firehouse feat Neil Zaza Live Concert 2010

Haven't been around lately due too my appointment with the World Cup, well finally I have the time to share some exciting music things for you guys. For those music fans that haven't heard about Firehouse recent Asian tour, well I can tell you that they just had a pretty long tour in countries such as Indonesia and Singapore.

The band was not actually in full flight as they are not joined by their frontman and guitarist Bill Leverty who according to the band's official site was unable to fly because of family reasons. However, the thrill is still there as the rockers taps a virtuoso guitar player, Neil Zaza to play on the tour, the results? Well you can judge for yourself on the videos that I posted below.

It's a bit funny in seeing the band live without Bill, although I know Neil and watched him live more than once, a nice guy and a fantastic guitarist indeed, but I was practically hoping to see Bill as I haven't heard a lot from him lately. As some of you might knew, we at Guitar Legends have a nice relationship with Bill who has been providing great interviews, access to his solo albums and other amazing stuffs, that's why I really want to catch him live.

Another minus thing that I learn is on the way the organizer, plan the tour in Indonesia, in some cities there haven't been a clear information about ticketing and everything. Overall, I can say the promotion is not balance as you got some people that can't really have an access on how and where the shows will be held, not to mention it's World Cup days. Tony MacAlpine To Hit the Stage With Vinnie Moore

An Interesting event seem set to arrive in New Plymouth, New Zealand as the G-Taranaki International Music fest will start in August, making the event much more entertaining is the fact that two guitar virtuosos, Tony MacAlpine and Vinnie Moore who confirmed their appearance there. The news was revealed via Tony's official MySpace page and it pretty much lifted my interest as the Planet X guitarist, reveals of a unique collaboration that he will perform with Vinnie at the Music Fest.

On his MySpace page, Tony stated that he will perform more than once on August 14, playing two instruments guitar and keyboards, the two instruments that have been so attached with the guitar master in the few years. The Planet X guitarist will be playing the keyboards when he plays with Vinnie on stage, while after that he will pick up his guitar and shred it out along with HAIL.

Those two upcoming performances looks really set becoming a badass show that many music lovers should not missed as despite playing the keyboards, Tony and Vinnie would probably gives an attractive musical show on stage. As many might knew that Tony has had a handful of professional experience playing the keyboards, especially his time helping out Steve Vai on Steve's solo tour and G3 shows back than.

Not only playing with Hail and Vinnie, Tony also stated that he will also jamm with other musicians that will also perform at the festival such as Jennifer Batten, Slash and Uli Jon Roth. That line up would pretty much another insurance the quality of the fest, and surely you should really hit the event if you have the chance. Orianthi Guitar Lessons : Playing "According To You"

An exciting video was streamed by Guitar World earlier this week showing a cool interview and guitar lesson from female guitar wonder Orianthi playing one of her song titled "According To You". The video streamed on Guitar World's official channel is just part of the original Interview and lesson clip made by the guitar site n magazine that's available at their official website.

In the early part of the short video, you can actually see an interesting interview about Orianthi's past, favorites and all of that stuff that might interest guitar heads of her fans. After the short Q&A, the rock guitar chick started to show the chord, riffs and solos that she did on "According To You", from that short showing you can pretty much acknowledge her guitar playing skills that obviously looks awesome.

There were some exciting guitar techniques that Orianthi showed on the video and really hit me, the hammer on and pulls of are really really good it pretty much captured the strength and the tone of her playing is just perfect. Surely this short video is very interesting, and the full clip would definitely be something worth watching, although Orianthi doesn't really give the kind of guitar lesson that many would expect it is still a cool thing to watch.

Choosing The Right Music College for Your Music Studies

For young practicing musicians who have the desire to study music seriously, taking a step further on their music education after finishing high school often being considered as the best option to improve their musicality. One of the choices to fulfill that ambition is getting into universities or institutes that have a music major that suits your own preferences, as there are many options that you can choose especially if you're living in the U.S. However, mainly there are two types of music education that people can choose, a regular university with music major and a full-time music institute/college. Some example of the regular universities are, the University of Redlands, Columbia University, Ithaca College, and many other that you can find near your living area. Meanwhile, some examples of the full music school are the likes of, Musicians Institute, Berklee College of Music, Julliard School, Manhattan School of Music, etc.

The main difference of those two type of college is that at the regular university, you will get a bigger environment because the music faculty is just part of the college's academic department and there are other faculties which means you can meet people with different major and goals. Meanwhile, on a specified music college, you will pretty much meet people with the same interest and goals in becoming a better musicians. Surely that conditions have their own pluses and minuses, but it's all depends on your own preferences, which suits you more, being in a plural environment around people with different mind set or hanging around with fellow practicing musicians. Moreover, another difference from those two type of music college can also be seen on the educational system which are clearly different, for instance if we compare the University of Redlands School of Music and Musicians Institute's course catalogs there would be some differences in terms of the subjects being given as the two college have different approach and system.

As an example, if you decide to go to Redlands University and choosing its music faculty the subjects that you'll be getting will mostly about the basic music knowledge such as composing, learning the basic of all instruments, etc. Meanwhile, in Musicians Institute you will get the opportunity to learn things much more specific such as learning about one instruments only such as getting in depth knowledge about playing guitar. However, surely both have an equally quality education that will help their students achieving their dream and goal as professional musicians. Overall, whatever options that you may choose if you are serious in getting a better education and aiming to make a living with music, studying at a music college is indeed an advisable option as not only you can get the knowledge needed but you can also get in touch with professional people in the music field.

Video: Steve Vai Playing and Revealing "The Moon and I" Riffs

A new interesting video streamed by guitar legend Steve Vai, not so long ago showing some cool warm up stuffs that he did and also short explanation about the riffs he worked on his latest single "The Moon and I". The clip was kinda shot in a candid sort of way as it saw Steve's employee named Andy shooting the guitar master while trying out his new camera.

In the earlier part of the clip, Andy showed scenes of Steve doing some fingering warm ups, doing some hammer on pull offs, legato and all of that usual technical warm up thing that guitar heads would do at home. From the middle part of the video, the guitar maestro spend some time to chat with Andy and talk about the riffs he did for "The Moon and I".

The former Whitesnake axeman, showed some of the cool riffs that he's been doing on the new single and explain the methods of performing it to Andy, showing a bit off his technical knowledge to every guitar heads out there. As always Steve used the whammy bar a lot even in the riff sections as he stated, that he wanted to make a melodic sounded riffs.

It sounded well, Steve Vai kinda thing, if you're a guitar freak and listen to his songs, you'll just figure out the master's style. Still is, its always fun seeing a guitar virtuoso such as Steve sharing his of knowledge for many fans without any real barrier and just having fun.

In the middle of his busy tour schedule, guitar virtuoso, Richie Kotzen still have the time to further promote his latest album by unleashing a new music video for his latest single "Larger Than Life". The new clip has been worked for sometime now and on June 8, Richie via his official YouTube page (Headroominc) premiered the new video and it actually received a pretty good viewers already.

The new clip is the second one made for Richie's new album "Peace Sign" as previously the guitarist already streamed a clip for the records' first single titled "Paying Dues". For the new video, RK looks to make it more serious compared to the first one by adding a bit story concept and some female models on it, not to mention the "Larger Than Life" video is being directed by Steven Lyon not by the former Poison guitarist himself.

For the most part, the video looks like trying to picture out the meaning of the song lyrics as it sees Richie and his partner (either wife of girlfriend you can figure out for yourself) just sharing the romantic and seductive moments together. Aside the romantically artistic scene, the clip also shown parts of RK singing and recording the track in the studio with his bandmates before at the end of the clip, his girlfriend(wife) and some other girls accompanied the guitar master and his band members in the studio.

Having already released his self titled solo album, Slash spend his time busy performing from stages to stages and one of the highlight of his latest performances is his gig at Rock am Ring 2010 where he performs "Paradise City". The performance is actually fun an exciting to hear and watch as Myles Kennedy, who was tabbed as the former Guns N' Roses guitarist's singer for his your sings amazingly.

This actually one of my favorite track from GNR's hey day, not pretty much into with the verse, outro and solos but the Intro and the chorus' lyrics just hit the nail for me. Pretty much what most rockers dream of back when they were young and just having fun, well that was pretty much what I get from listening the track, the idea of a paradise city is always amusing, after years of not hearing it this latest version that Slash played with is surely fun and brings back that cool vibe. Joe Satriani To Record A New Batch Of Satch

Guitar legend, Joe Satriani, Never seems to have a block of creativity as not long after his project with Chickenfoot finished for a while, the guitarist confirms that he is ready for another batch of Satch. If you're wondering what would that be, well it's pretty much what Joe decides to name a new record this days, yup according to his official news letter, batch of Satch would a new recording material that he will be working on soon.

The guitar hero, reveals that the upcoming recording's process is at advanced stage as the writing process and arrangement are mostly done and all they need to do is record it. Confirming this statement Joe wrote, "All the songs are written, and mostly arranged, just waiting to come alive. Jeff, Allen and Mike will be arriving in a few days for a bit of rehearsal, then it's off to the studio."

The guitar master also promises that he will keep us and all of his fans updated about new details for his new record as that's pretty much that he reveals up til now. The guitar master looks very excited in starting out his new solo album's process and working again with his band writing some of his own music that comes from his personal point of view after having such a wonderful time together with his boys at Chickenfoot.

The model reminds you of those exciting metal Jackson style (flying V) with the addition of some interesting design on its body that pretty much shows the guitarist personal style.

After wondering for sometime about Rusty Cooley's project, the guitar virtuoso came up with an interesting news by revealing his new band titled Day Of Reckoning which consist of three other members, Eric Lauer (vocals), Matt Smith (drums) and Andretti Medina (guitars). Rusty's new band showcase snippet of their upcoming songs via their official MySpace page music widget, in which you can here samples of some of the bands tracks.

According to Rusty himself of his official newsletter mailed to this site, the songs were pretty much demo material that could be on course for the band's debut album. Guitar Heroes Remembers Ronnie James Dio

As many music lovers know last Sunday is one of the saddest day in the music industry, especially the metal scenes as another metal hero, Ronnie James Dio, left the world. Ronnie is a very important act in the metal world as he has been involved in huge bands on the hard rock-metal scene such as, Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, DIO and Heaven & Hell. That participation that Ronnie had with those legendary bands surely made his name close in many music fans and also musicians heart, including some guitar virtuosos that listen to his band's songs a lot.

Surely since Sunday morning, May 16, many guitar heroes have send out their condolences to Ronnie's family and also shout out their sadness for the whole world to hear and see how important and inspirational the legendary vocalist was to the music industry. Among many guitar heroes in this whole wide world, some that vividly shown their lost of Ronnie's death online were the likes of Paul Gilbert, Kiko Loureiro, Richie Kotzen, Slash, Doug Aldrich and Rowan Robertson.

Video: Slash Perfoms 'Gotten' with Adam Levine at Elle

An exciting clip from renown guitar player, 'Slash' emerged on the Internet, as it shows the former 'Guns 'N Roses performed one of his song titled "Gotten" taken from his latest self-titled solo record. The clip was not an official music video, but a live performance from Slash' show at Elle, where he was accompanied by Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

The guitarist perform the song nicely and Adam's voice makes the ballad sounds sweet and appealing, surely it's a unique combination as the Maroon 5' vocalist voice is not a classic rock kind of voice that usually being Slash's most likely sound used for his guitar playing. Steve Morse Talks About Touring Experience

Being on the road for musicians surely bring lots of interesting, exciting and even off experience that will make them remember the time they had at the specific country, this kind of feel is also what Deep Purple guitarist Steve Morse felt during his recent tour with the band. Through the band's official news letter Steve talks about the experience and his feeling about his latest visit to Asia and Australia, the guitarist revealed all of his feeling and conditions at those places.

Speaking about the cities he and his band visited, Steve reveals and interesting stuff about most Asian cities such as Taipei and Hongkong, saying that he do have some adaptability issue regarding the food there. However, the guitar master was more than pleased in seeing the enthusiasm of Asian music fans in watching their shows. "The audience in Taipei was incredible, very energetic! We just arrived in Hong Kong, and you just can't imagine the immensity of high rise buildings on top of hills, everywhere, Steve talks about the experience he felt in some Asian cities.

Meanwhile, about the band's concert in Australia, the guitar maestro also reveals his experience at the continent saying, "Australia was a blur, I think I was still trying to get over the change of day to night, and then we were gone. It was better than last time, I think, and it felt like a good result for all." Moreover, Steve also talks about the meeting he had with some friends there stating, "A guitarist that I met years ago at a Guitar Player guitar concert, Nathan Cavaleri, sat in with us, and played very well, as I expected. I touched base with Living Loud bassist Bob Daisley, and we made plans to finish the tunes we started."

Guitar virtuoso, Vinnie Moore shares an exciting news to guitar fans in Brazil as he has announced that he will be visiting the country to do some clinic there. According to the news on Vinnie's official MySpace page the guitarist will be making about six appearance at the footballing country and share his amazing guitar playing there.

The news stated that Vinnie will be starting his journey in Brazil on May 31 in Sao Paolo and then without any break, each day he will be on the road visiting Porto Alegre, Criuiuma, Bruscue, Florianopolis and Brasilia. Those trip is set to end on June 6 and would likely provide all of the coolest and fun musical time for guitar players and musicians at Brazil.

Aside from his clinic schedule, Vinnie himself is also busy doing his solo tour this year by performing in stages in South America and also Europe, the clinic tour that he will be doing looks to be a good installment to add to his current trip. Richie Kotzen Confirms Signing With Marshall

In the middle of world tour, guitar virtuoso/singer, Richie Kotzen has just announced an interesting news to music and guitar fans by revealing that he has now become the new member of Marshall amps family and will be using it world wide. The news was revealed by Richie himself via his official news letter saying, "I am very excited to say that I am now a part of the Marshall family! I will be using Marshall amplifiers exclusively throughout the tour!"

The news surely is an exciting and would pretty much bring out the question whether RK will still use his previous signature series Amps for other things, such as in recording. Although it usually doesn't work that way, but surely Marshall will be the amplifier that Richie will exclusively use on tour and also for his clinics. Paul Gilbert To Drop New A New Album in June 2010

Mr. Big guitarist, Paul Gilbert looks set to surprise his fans especially those in Japan as according to the latest news Paul will be releasing a new album at the country on June 23 this year. Despite there hasn't been any official confirmation from the guitarist himself, but the news is already being revealed via hmv site in Japan.

The new record will be titled "Fuzz Universe" until now there hasn't been any details regarding the song list but it will be released via WHD entertainment and aside from the CD there will be also a new DVD coming out for the record which will also be dropped on the same date. The new record according to metalichicka will be another instrumental set made as the follow up to "Silenced Followed By A Defeaning Roar" that was dropped in 2008.

Hasn't actually had a clue but pretty much looking forward for this new outing as the previous one, did showcase some of Paul's best instrumental stuffs which I believe is the best Instrumental solo album wrote by Paul and pretty much on par with Paul's amazing "Burning Organ". Furthermore, it will be difficult to pretty much follow on Silenced's success or even Burning Organ's as the condition when Paul wrote both records are pretty much different, so I do hope that "Fuzz Universe" would be something of another master piece from him.

Talented Guitarist Ivan Mihaljevic Sign With SG Records

Exciting news arrives from young talented guitar player Ivan Mihaljevic, who some of you might now from last year Guitar Idol event. Ivan who produce some of the coolest shredding music pieces I've ever heard, recently has been confirmed of joining a new record label which is the SG Records.

This news was officially confirmed by the recording company themselves via an official news letter mailed to me, which said, "SG Records will publish in the next months the second solo album by international revelation Ivan Mihaljevic, guitarist from the Croatian band Hard Time." Moreover, the company also revealed Ivan's new album's title which is "Destination Unknown" that the young guitarist worked with the band called Side Effect along with many other guest stars.

This new deal hopefully will be another step for Ivan in getting much more wider recognition for his amazing music as he surely is one of the new guitarist that have a thing that interest me. This Croatian guitarist truly have the talent not to mention the experience needed to become a great guitarist in the future, all the best for him and hopefully he will keep on providing amazing guitar works.

Video: Steve Vai Appear At Idol Give With Mary J. Blige

Just as many probably has revealed guitar God, Steve Vai is getting together with an all star group of musicians in support of Mary J. Blige in playing a cover version of the classic hit track "Stairway To Heaven". The latest update about the all star group arrives as they performed at American Idol's special charity show Idol gives back on Wednesday, April 21 and provide a nice performance on the stage.

At the event Steve, alongside Mary and also the likes of Orianthi, Travis Barker, Randy Jackson and Ron Fair really putted out everything that they got to amuse the crowd at the show. Although in fairness the cover version of the song doesn't really sound as classic or as thrilling as the original one did by Led Zeppelin, but still Mary's idea in covering it especially with the involvement of Steve and other great musicians are something should be appreciated.

Guitar hero, Steve Lukather never stop in giving interesting stuff for his new fans such as the new title for his upcoming album which on his official site was unfold by Steve himself saying that it will be titled "All's Well That Ends Well". The guitarist also stated that he came up with the idea during his travel to Holland saying, " "People keep asking... MY record will come out in the fall 2010 worldwide. It's called "All's well that ends well". It came up in Amsterdam, where else! Hahaha"

Surely it would be interesting in hearing to the guitar master's new record as all this time Luke has been very much busy doing and working stuffs with his friends, and also performing solo tour all around the world. Andy Timmons Announce European Tour 2010

Former Danger Danger guitarist, Andy Timmons gives an exciting news to his guitar heads lovers in Europe as he reveal that he will be touring at the continent in May. Revealing the news via his official website, Andy stated that he will start his European leg on May 10 in Lille, France and scheduled to end on May 21 in Murcia, Spain.

In total, Andy will be performing at 10 venues all across the Europe and definitely promises an inspiring and entertaining guitar performance for all of guitar lovers in the continent. In support of the guitar virtuoso, he will be accompanied by his band mates, such as Rob Avsharian on drums and Mike Daane on bass.

Andy's upcoming performance in Europe is a follow up after his latest performance at the Ziua Chitarelor show in Romania that was held on April 10. On that special guitar show, the guitar hero also played with other fellow guitar virtuosos such as, Greg Howe, Brett Garsed, M.A. Batio, Richard Hallebeek and William Stravato.

Tony MaCalpine Announce Upcoming 2010 Projects

Guitar virtuoso, Tony MaCalpine announce an interesting news lately regarding his upcoming projects in 2010 which is doing shows with CAB and a guitar clinic in China. The guitarist reveal the news via his official MySpace page revealing the dates for both event.

As for the upcoming show with CAB, Tony stated that he will be performing with the project band consisting of Bunny Brunel, Virgil Donati and Otmar Ruiz on four dates. The first two will be on April 22 and 22 at The Baked Potato, in Studio City, Calif. As for the next two dates will also be played at one venue, which is at Vittelo's Upstairs, Studio City, CA on May 1 and 2. This shows looked but be a smashing one and worth watching for any guitar heads as the combination of Tony and Virgil surely reminds me of the crazy stuffs they've done previously at Planet X.

Meanwhile, regarding his upcoming clinic tour in China, Tony reveals that at this moment there are already five venues confirmed at the East Asia country. The event sponsored by Tony's guitar endorser Ibanez, is scheduled to start on May 22 and set to end on May 26. There is still a hope for more dates for the clinic and hopefully not only in China but other countries in Asia as well.

Guitar virtuoso Richie Kotzen share some exciting stuff for his fans, showing a funny clip he made with a friend which sees RK singing a song called "The Weight" with his friend playing the guitar part. Richie completely being hilarious as puts on a fake teeth while singing the track, however amazingly he still sings very-very well and amazing.

Revealing about the clip which he shared on his official YouTube channel, called Headroominc, Richie said that he just wanted to show people one of the activities he's doing while not on tour or busy recording. "Often times I am asked what I do when I'm not on tour or recording... here is an example. My friend Bret and I did a version of 'The Weight' live from the 'Office', " Richie said.

Despite it was a funny clip, nevertheless it still showcase Richie's amazing musicality and also voice, you can pretty much said that even though he was goofing around he still sings amazingly. BBC Music' Axe Factor, Best Guitarist or Popular Guitarist List ?

The latest news just spreads on the net, stating about a new best guitarists list created by BBC 6 called the Axe Factor. Well, much like it's X-Factor show, the list looks pretty much of a popularity list of guitar players rather than best rock guitarist in the past 30 years??? The list amazingly put John Frusciante as the top player, not that I don't like John, but in what terms does he can be consider the best guitar player?

Not only that, seeing all the list, I kinda feel that not many should make it on the top 10, Prince well he was amazing and inspirational, but the other 9? Slash could be there, but honestly there were other rock guitarist better than him especially in terms of guitar skills. However, the former Guns N' Roses guitarist does have a say and could make it base on his inspirational act at his time at GNR. Out of those two, the list were pretty much of a weird and bias list as not many of them are technically an amazing guitar players.

In 30 years of time there were so many great guitarist that deserve a spot there, from the combination of inspiration and technique or purely based on guitar playing skills. It's weird at time seeing people listing best guitar players, where some of the guitarist can't even play all the techniques in playing guitar. This BBC list is another, shameful list on how people doesn't really now real musicians out there, people that dedicate their life in praticing and mastering their instruments. I'm not gonna make a list on whose the best, but there are many names that can be counted without even the need in listing them as great guitar players doesn't need to compete, all you should see is their ability and quality in playing their instruments.

Here are some of the names that I think Best Rock Guitar players in the last 30 years that you should check out :
Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Marty Friedman, Kee Marcello, Paul Gilbert, Richie Kotzen, Jason Becker, Prince, Nuno Bettencourt, Steve Morse, Reb Beach, Dave Mustaine, Slash, Kiko Loureiro, George Lynch, Jason Becker, John Petrucci just to name a few, there's so many that I urge you to list them out yourself, instead of reading to some pool that would probably put a question mark in your head, and also and the quality of guitar players to be considered as the best!

Straight from Van Halen News Desk, an interesting news arrives as the site revealed that the highly anticipated book about, Eddie Van Halen,the guitar legend created by Guitar World is already in stock and shipping mode at Van Halen store. The new book actual release date is actually in April 15, but it looks like Van Halen fans might already have the chance in ordering the masterpiece stuff which will give more insight look on Eddie during his best years.

Moreover according to the site, the new book features lots of great insight stories about Eddie including 3 never been published interviews that was conducted in 78,79 & 80 along with 10 other exclusive interviews done previously by Guitar World. An exciting new video comes from Nevermore's guitar player Jeff Loomis, as the clip showed the interview Jeff did with Rock.sk after his clinic at Big Music in Slovakia on March 31. It's a cool two part videos that shows guitar heads some small part of Jeff's ability.

Previously, Jeff has also introduce his upcoming guitar lesson DVD that he made with Rock House, titled "Extreme Lead Guitar". The exciting guitar lesson video is being set to be released on April 15 for a pre-sale date and it surely be something worth waiting for guitar heads as it showcase more than 40 guitar lessons, interviews and also live performances.

Steve Vai Unveils New Ibanez JEM's Floral Pattern

Steve Vai's Ibanez JEM has been widely known for it's unique floral design pattern that mostly being used in the guitar's fret board and body, now it seems that Steve doesn't want change that tradition as he unveils another new floral pattern for his JEM 77. According to the guitar legend's official MySpace page, the new pattern is the second one for the JEM 77 and the unveiling itself was being done at the MusicMesse in Frankfurt Germany.

From what I've seen the new pattern for the JEM 77 is indeed a very funky thing as it has that sort of that cartoon floral picture on the body that looked similar to the pattern on his album. Aside from the floral pic on the guitar body, there's also the classic flower accent on the finger board, pretty much the same as any of Steve's JEM model.

Detailing about the parts of the new JEM 77, Steve via his MySpace page explained it in this sentences: "The guitar features a 5pc maple and walnut neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and vine neck inlay with red accents to match the body design. The neck pickup is a DiMarzio® Evolution® DP158, middle pickup is a DiMarzio® Evolution® DPS1 and the bridge pickup is a DiMarzio® Evo2™. Hardware is chrome and the bridge is an Ibanez Edge."

Surely the new guitar will definitely be something that interest lots of guitar heads or Steve's fans, as not only it being completed with amazing hardware and gear, but the funky design would definitely catch many people in the eye. John Norum To Release New Solo Album In May

Hard rock guitar maniacs, especially those who listen to 80's rockers, should definitely recognize Europe's guitarist, John Norum as he is one of the kick ass guitar players in that era. Having a pretty okay solo career, John looked set to show the music world his musical quality outside Europe with his new album which will be released on May 27.

The new record will is being titled "Play Yard Blues" and dropped via Mascot Records which is known for their support with lots of guitar instrumentalist, such as Paul Gilbert, Buckethead and mane more. As it can be seen from the title, John's new album will surely gives a very bluesy hard rocking sound to your ear and promised to be a fun stuff to hear.

Aside from the upcoming new album, John also had another music project released under Mascot Records, which is a track on a compilation set titled "When Blues Meets Rock". For the compilation album, the guitarist featured a new solo single named "Let It Shine".

Guitar Video: Jeff Loomis New Guitar Lesson Teaser

A new guitar lesson that will surely bring an excitement to many guitar heads is about to be released soon, the new DVD is Jeff Loomis' guitar lesson titled "Extreme Lead Guitar". The upcoming DVD is being set for a pre-sale on April 15 and as a promo bid, Rock House Method streamed a teaser video that will attract many guitar fans out there.

From the teaser clip we can see some footage from the making of the DVD lesson and also the features being offered from the new DVD, such as over 40 lessons given, Live performance clips, guitar tab bonus and many more. From the teaser, I can say that, Jeff's upcoming DVD looked to be a promising stuff that would really be more than fun for young guitarist to check out and learn.

Aside from the DVD teaser, there is also a cool lesson clip that you can see below, that clip is an arpeggio lick of Jeff's "Miles of Machine". The arpeggio lick is indeed very very cool and unique, certainly something arpeggio meister would really love in learning and doing.

Gary Hoey To Tour With Jeff Beck

Exciting news arrives for guitar fans in North America as they will have the chance to watch another special show that will showcase two guitar maestros on the stage, Gary Hoey and Jeff Beck. The news was revealed by Gary via his official news letter send not long ago and it was indeed a wonderful surprise as having two guitar masters sharing the stage always means quality music will be heard.

According to the news letter, Gary and Jeff will be starting their North America tour in April, which starts on April 16 to April 29 and hit about seven venues in the U.S. A special stuffs are definitely promised when two virtuosos share the stage together and according to the report, Hoey will do a rare acoustic setup for the tour that certainly be something worth waiting for music fans.

Meanwhile, aside from the upcoming special tour with Jeff, Gary also has other exciting projects this year that maybe his fans or the guitar community would like to check out, such as his exciting Fender Clinics and also his solo tour. The 49-years-old's upcoming clinic will be divided into two session, the April session which will start from April 6-14 and the May session that starts from May 11 to 20.

As for his solo tour, Gary revealed that at the moment there are already 3 Venues that will see him with his band, which are on NY State Fair, Tupelo Music Hall and also Fender Univesity. The dates for all of that shows including his other tour and clinics can be viewed completely below.

Once again Orange Amps have just released another new type of amps to the market and this time the renown company introduce, the New Crush and Crush PIX amps as their latest outing. The news is being revealed via Orange Amps official press release outed on March 15, here is the full press release as read:

Orange recently upgraded the Crush PiX range of amps to pack more punch and offer more great value for money. Following on from this, they are announcing at the Frankfurt Musikmesse a range of new models and changes.

2010 see’s the whole Crush PiX range available in an optional cool black finish alongside their instantly recognisable, brightly coloured Orange Amplifiers and picture-frame cabinets.

The range has also been extended to include the new CR100 BXT bass amp combo. Steve Vai and Bryan May to Appear on Meat Loaf's Album

An interesting news arrives from Meat Loaf as the musicians is about to release a new album that includes some big names in the music world including two guitar legends, Bryan May and Steve Vai. The two guitarist along with other renown musicians surely makes Meat Loaf's upcoming record titled "Hang Cool Teddy Bear" something worth waiting for as it will be dropped on May 11.

For the upcoming record Steve will be appearing and giving his contribution in a song titled "Love Is Not Real" while Bryan is contributing on two tracks, which is "Love Is Not Real" with Vai and also "Song Of Madness". Aside from those two, other musicians that helped out on the record are, Kara DioGuardi, Jack Black, Justin Hawkins and many more.

Commenting about his new album Meat Loaf said t the press, "I wanted it big, I wanted it dramatic, I wanted a rock record. Yes, it sounds like a Meat Loaf record. But it sounds different too: it sounds new, it sounds fresh. It speaks to you in a different way." Moreover the musician also revealed that the new album actually has a bigger concept which is inspired by a short story written by his longtime friend Killian Kerwin.

Telling about the connection between the story and the concept of his album Meat Loaf stated to the press saying, "It's the story of a soldier, He's been in battle and he's lying face down on the ground. He can't move, but he turns his head and starts to see blood run across the ground, and so he thinks he's going to die. They always say you see your life flash backward when you're about to die. But his life flashes forward — into what possibly could happen. He sees what his life could be: the good and the bad. The songs are the different scenarios he finds himself in. It's not always the same time or the same place, but it's always the same woman. But I don't want to give too much away. I want people to work it out for themselves."

Personally I am looking forward in hearing this new record that will be dropped under Roadrunner Records, as Meat Loaf always offers exciting songs that combines rocking music with strong lyrics. Not only that with the addition of Steve and Bryan in some of the songs it would surely be more exciting as the quality of the music would definitely shouldn't be questioned.

Slash Announced Solo Tour Line Up

As a bit to promote his upcoming self titled solo album, guitar legend Slash is ready to gear up for tour and closing in to the date of his road trip and new album's release, the guitarist revealed to public the official line up for the upcoming road show. Announcing the news via his official MySpace blog, Slash revealed the names that will be joining him on the road, they are Myles Kennedy (vocals, guitar), Bobby Schneck (rhythm guitar), Dave Henning (bass) & Brent Fitz (drums)

Despite already announcing the line up for his upcoming shows, Slash hasn't officially confirmed all of the dates for the upcoming tour as he said that there is still need confirmation regarding all of the dates. However, Blabbermouth stated that Slash and his tour band will be marking their road trip by performing at the Rock On the Range festival which will be held in May.

Meanwhile, Slash's upcoming album itself is being set to be dropped on April 6 in North America, while in the U.K. the album is released on May 10. As it has been reported before, on the new record the former Guns N' Roses guitarist tabbed lots of renown musicians such as Myles, Ozzy Osbourne, Adam Levine, Fergie and many more.

Adding more details about the album, the first single from the record has also been released to public the new track is titled "By The Sword". Commenting about the song Slash said, "By The Sword' is a favorite of mine off the album. I really enjoyed meeting and working with Andrew Stockdale. It was a solid collaborative effort and his voice is fantastic."

John Petrucci To Take Part On Guitar Workshop Plus

An exciting news for all guitar heads living in Canada as the latest confirmation stated that another guitar hero is set to join the star studded music workshop event, and that guitarist is Dream Theater's John Petrucci. The news was revealed on Blabbermouth, stating aside from John, there are also other guitar and bass heroes that will perform at the event, they are Andy Timmons, Tony Macalpine, Greg Howe, Stuart Hamm, Dave Martone and many more.

Those amazing line up certainly will attract lots of guitar maniacs to attend the event as those performers mentioned above are masters at what they are playing. However, despite the amazing act line up off course they wont be giving workshop at the same time, as the Guitar Workshop plus has already set up the schedule for the musicians.
According to the list John will be playing at Appleby College in Oakville, Ontario on July 18 - July 23 (the first session of the event). Meanwhile Andy and Tony are being scheduled to do a workshop on July 25-30 at the same venue as John is, as for Greg, Stu and Dave the three will be performing at the Quest University in Squamish, B.C.: August 8 - August 13. Orange Amps Launch Thunder 30 Combo and Head

Another new stuff being introduced by the famous amps company Orange Amps, the new product that is being set to get launch this spring is the Thunder 30 combo and head. The new amps is being set to replace the previous Rocker 30 amps and being touted as something more special that the earlier product.

Revealing some of the new amp features, the company via their official press release describe the new amp will deliver more punch, more features and more power and a blowing sound. Here is the explanation for the new amp:

"The new Thunder 30 is an all valve class A 30 watt, twin channel amplifier, powered by four EL84 power valves (two more than the Rocker 30). It will be available in head and 1 X 12 configurations and includes an F/X loop (not featured on the Rocker 30) and the 1x12 is front loaded.

Yngwie Malmsteen Announce Russia Tour

Neoclassic guitar-master, Yngwie Malmsteen has just announced an exciting news for guitar heads in Europe especially in Russia as the guitarist revealed that he will be doing two headlining shows there. According from the news posted on Yngwie's official MySpace page, the guitar hero will be performing in Moskow and St Petersburg on April 21 and 24.

Chris Broderick Reveals Jason Becker and Marty Friedman As Guitar Influences

Megadeth's guitarist Chris Broderick reveal some interesting fact about guitars and the guitar players that has influenced him over the years in a recent interview he did with Bay Area Metal Scene. On the interview, Chris revealed the names of guitar players that have been his influence until this date and they are Jason Becker, Dimebag Darrell and Marty Friedman.

Revealing on Jason and Dimebag's influence on him, Chris revealed that he recently did some stuff that was influenced by the two guitarists, which is doing some cool things with the tremolo bar. "The tremolo-bar work that I did was really more my own, although definitely influenced by Dimebag and Jason Becker and all of the old Shrapnel [records] shredders like that," Chris said.

Meanwhile, revealing about having Marty as one of his favorite and influential guitar players, Chris stated that it all happened after he heard Dragon's Kiss played by Marty and Jason. Stating his praise over the former Megadeth and Cacophony axeman, Chris said, "When you listen to Marty, he has such a unique sound. The generalized term for it is that Middle Eastern or Eastern sound, and as soon as you hear one of his solos you say, "Oh, that's Marty!" That's one of the best things that any player or soloist can have is their own sound and their own style, and that's one thing that really influenced me."

Aside from sharing things about his favorite players, Chris also give some good advices to young guitarist on how they should behave and what they should do to be a great player. "you should develop your own sound and style and develop as an individual. You're making a statement with your instrument. I think the best thing you can do is enjoy what you're doing because you'll learn better and you'll learn more and you'll be happy doing it," Chris said adding. "Just hearing more, to tell you the truth. When I listen to things I pick-up more detail now than I used to, and I think that'll be the same case in a few years from now."

An exciting news comes for guitar heads in England, especially those who resident in London as they will have the chance to catch up a great guitarist and learn from him directly. The guitarist that will be giving private lesson and master class is Swedish guitar hero, Mattias Ia Eklundh, who is also the axeman of progressive rock band Freak Kitchen.

The news about Mattias plan in London is announced by the press release from the ICMP (Institute of Contemporary Music Performance) which will be the host of the event. According to the press release, the event will be held on February 18 at ICMP facilities in Kilburn, London.

Revealing the advantages of having Mattias as a mentor for giving lesson and MasterClass, the ICMP stated that the guitar master will give more than just musical lesson for students not to mention he has a unique and funny methods in teaching. "Mattias engaged the crowd by blending a great balance of humour, technical precision, stylistic diversity and education in his performance. He shared his influences from all over the world, particularly from India where he felt challenged by interesting time signatures and melodic nuances," the press release read.

Not only sharing the news about planning to have Mattias as a mentor to share his knowledge at their institute, ICMP also share a video of the guitar hero's performance at the music school. At the video, you can see the axeman performed with the accompany of few tutors such as Dave Marks, Darren Ashford and Charlie Griffiths and also scholarship students like, Jamie Wilkins, James Neye and Francesco Lucidi.

Original Testament guitarist, Alex Skolnick is known for his versatility in the music world as not only his heavy metal sound that makes people acknowledge him but also cause of his taste and quality in jazz makes him a guitarist worth listening too. Now another prove of his versatility especially his Jazz vibe can be viewed by guitar heads on a new guitar lesson video streamed by Guitar World recently.

On the nearly 6 minutes long lesson part, Alex give a special guidance on playing his Jazz version of KISS' hit track "Detroit Rock City" which kinda give you a concept of bringing Metal into Jazz. Video: Neil Zaza New Recording Session

Having not heard from him in a while, melodic-rock guitarist Neil Zaza give a special stuff for guitar heads as he streamed a new video showing his recent recording session. The new clip was the recording session for a song titled "If This Is Goodbye" which is being recorded at Audacia Studios-Paterno, IT.

It looked to be an interesting one, however it's too bad the clip doesn't show any of Neil's part on record as it we can only see the bass and drum part of the track. Still is for Neil fans it is surely something fun to finally gets something new from the guitar hero aside from his tour schedule off course.

The good news about Neil with this video is that the guitarist revealed to music fans that his new recording is about to be unleashed sometime this spring of 2010. Just as people can see from the clip on the new album the "I Am Alright" composer will be joined by Fabio Colella on Drums and Walter Cesarani at least for the "If This Is Goodbye" session, meanwhile Aldo Stornelli is the Label and studio president for this.

Here is some cool videos that I recently have just bump into, it's not a new stuff but still is it is something that I haven't had the time to share with you guys on this site. The clips are exclusive footage of Kiko loureiro's performance at NAMM last January, which was recorded and streamed by Kristin via her official YouTube channel

There are three cool videos of Kiko's performing his songs and rocking out the NAMM stage and wowing the audience off course. Some of the renown classic track from the Angra guitarist that he played on the event were No Gravity and Dilemma, there are also other tracks that will surely blows your mind off.

Meanwhile, regarding the latest news from the guitar virtuoso, Kiko recently has just finished making a new guitar lesson DVD for Rock House. The DVD gives a showcase of how amazing Kiko is as he explained about creative fusion on how we applied fusion chords in playing rock music.

in other news, Kiko himself at the moment is busy preparing and recording his band Angra's new album as the latest report stated that they have already started the recording process. The news itself was being revealed by the Brazilian metal-act's bass player Felipe Andreoli.

Jimi Hendrix's Rock Band To Be Released This Year?

Another exciting news for music fans and guitar heads that happened to be a gamer too, as the latest reports coming from Billboard.com stated that music from guitar legend, Jimi Hendrix are set to be released for the famous game "Rock Band". Reports claim that the guitar God's estate supervisor, Janie Hendrix has already strike a deal with Sony music for publishing the virtuoso's works including for the Rock Band franchise.

The hint that Janie stated, was revealed on the statement she made to the media saying, "At the time the deal was completed. Sony vowed to make his music 'available through every type of media' -- including a new edition of 'Rock Band' that Janie Hendrix says should appear before the end of this year." This statement surely gives more than a crystal clear details on the upcoming projects and could be more than a hint that the Rock Band version of Jimi's stuffs is on the way.

However, the thing that probably causing a bit doubt to the realization of this project as there are no official confirmation yet from the game developer themselves. However, press believe that it won't be long before the official date about this exciting project is being announced.

Many think that, "Rock Band"'s developer are just waiting for the right moment to unleashed the Jimi Hendrix package, as it would be a special thing for music fans to collect. Steve Lukather Reveices The Eddy Christiani Award

Being known for his versatility in the music world and also the guitar realms, guitar hero Steve Lukather once again received an acknowledgment because of his work for the music industry and guitar world. According to his official site, Luke will be handed the award on Saturday, April 3 2010 in Vlissingen, Holland and he will be receiving it during the prize's first lustrum (haven't figure out what that means actually).

Moreover according to the site, beside receiving an award Luke will also do a performance at the event with the accompany of some local dutch musicians. Here is the confirmation about the ex-TOTO guitarist's activities at the event, "Poppuntzeeland is very proud to receive guitar legend Steve Lukather. Richie Kotzen Announce Hihgline Ballroom Show

Guitar hero, Richie Kotzen has just made his fans in the U.S. gets excited as he announced that he will be doing at least (for now) a show there, although he won't be excluding more dates but so far the Blues guitar master has only confirmed a show at the Highline Ballroom, NYC. Richie reveal the news on his Twitter and MySpace shout out, confirming that he will be taking the stage at the Ballroom on May 25.

Here is what RK shouted out on his Twitter and MySpace regarding the upcoming show on Highline Ballroom, "I'm coming back to NYC! May 25th at the Highline Ballroom. More US dates to follow!" Ron Thal Talks About Chinese Democracy and GN'R

Just as many people have shared and talked, the new Guns N' Roses album and line-up arouse some controversy, especially for some die hard fans that always trying to compare it with the previous GN'R records with the original line up. In order to give his insight regarding the controversy, GN'R's new guitarist Ron Thal (Bumblefoot) talked it all out in an interview with Ultimate-Guitar.

From what, I've read from the Interview Ron do shout out lots of interesting explanation and great comments regarding "Chinese Democracy" and also about some fans opinion that the new Guns N' Roses formation looks more like Axl's side project compare the the original line up band. Speaking about his thought on the band's latest album, he said, "To me, "Chinese Democracy" isn't your typical album where you write it, record it, release it, promote it, and tour. This is a totally different creature, and I think a lot of people needed a minute to realize that for it to sink in, and to stop trying to fit it into the mould of a typical album because it's not a typical album. It's so much more experimental, and it's just a totally different thing. To me, "Chinese Democracy" is "The White Album" for GN'R, in a way."

Meanwhile, about the opinion on the new GN'R line-up, Ron stated that people are being to overworked with their own ideas of hoping the band to reunite, the fact that the current line-up is still a worth watching and hearing stuffs enough to make the guitar hero said that it still is Guns N Roses for him. "There's bigger problems in the world than what a band is calling itself. Jesus, it's fucking rock 'n' roll. We're just going out there, playing, and having a good time. Call it GN'R and enjoy it, that's all. That's my suggestion if the name's really a problem for anyone — if you wanna listen to GUNS N' ROSES, put on the "Appetite" album, be happy, and if you wanna listen to GN'R, put on "Chinese Democracy" and come to a show," Ron said.

Well, it's such a badass answer from Ron, although I somehow find that he is just being honest with what he was saying to people. Another interesting statement coming from Bumblefoot is his opinion in working with Axl Rose, which he said was not as hard as many said. "It's like working with anyone else — it's fine. It's just normal, at least to me. It's just pretty normal, and the funny thing is if I say something positive, the response to that from the sceptics is "Oh, he's getting paid to say that," Ron stated.

Just running into a cool video of Richie Kotzen on the net, which shows his performance at the NAMM show for the Fender booth it seems. The clip shows Richie's rocking out playing his latest song from the new album "Peace Sign" with some cool guitar improvisation that would make your eyes stutter.

The video shows, Richie playing with his band wearing a classic black outfit with skull cap and off course rocking out with his Fender Telecaster. The bluesy riffs and solos are so cool that I truly would be dying to see and hear them live, just listening the clip you can really hear RK's passion and amazing musicality.

In other news, Richie himself at the moment is also gearing for a tour to South America, which set to start on April 23 in Brazil. The guitar virtuoso surely will be performing in some other venues and rock all out as he has been doing lots of time in South America.

Orianthi has suddenly become an popular figure in the music world and also in the guitar especially after her participation as Michael Jackson's guitarist on his supposedly scheduled world tour. Not only that here recent collaboration with Steve Vai has also caught the attention of many guitar heads, making the rock chick a new female guitar icon.

Knowing the fact that she has such a influence this days, Orianthi set a new personal goal outside of her musical projects, which is hoping to inspire more guitar players especially female guitarist to show up. Stating her wish, the guitar chick reveals it to Spinner, saying "I want to inspire a lot more guitar players, especially girls to keep at it, to want to pick it up because it's a lot of fun, There aren't too many female guitar players out there. If you love it as much as the guys do then just keep at it.

Well, it doesn't really take long for her as actually nowadays after her popularity, she has been getting lots of notes, messages from fans and young aspiring musicians saying how she inspired them and wanted to be like her. "That's really awesome, getting messages like that. I'm at NAMM right now and having my PRS [Paul Reid Smith guitar] model come out, a lot of kids have written to me on Twitter and said, 'We want to get your guitar and be able to learn your stuff'" She said.

Moreover, Orianthi also notice that having a gig with the late and legendary king of Pop really did nothing but a great thing for her musical career as up til today she still gets message from MJ's fans that were inspired by her. Confirming this she said, "I get a lot of e-mails from his fans that have seen the movie or hear my stuff and they want to play guitar too, so that means a lot."

Steve Vai Joined All Star Cast For a Secret Recording Session

A special stuff has just happened on Tuesday night at Capitol Records studio recording A as a bunch of well known musicians including guitar legend Steve Vai was doing a special stuff there. Vai alongside fellow guitarist Orianthi, Travis Barker (drums), Randy Jackson (bass), Ron Fair (piano) and singer Mary J. Blige according to the L.A. Times Music Blog were recording a special cover of classic hit rock song "Stairway To Heaven", by Led Zeppelin.

The recording process for the legendary song is said to be used for Mary's upcoming new 10th studio album which will be released later this year. Despite news about this recording session and the song that was being cut, there hasn't actually been any further details regarding the singer's upcoming record, whether it is the official date, the type of album although at least the song will make people sees the rock side of Blige.

Despite being known as a soul music queen Mary J. Blige hasn't had much trouble in taking down the classic tune, as through her confession the singer stated that she is actually a long time rock fans. Confirming her passion for rock music, Mary said, "What people don't know about me is I've been a rock 'n' roll fan for years. I loved soft rock as a child. I'm full of this stuff, naturally."

This project is surely something special, to bad I haven't managed to get some comment from Steve as there seems to be nothing special that he commented about the recording as the news source didn't publish any quote from the guitar God. Nevertheless, this special recording is surely something exciting to check out as hearing the guitar legend combines with Randy and Travis, off course there's also Orianthi and Mary would really something I never really imagine before.
