Steve Lukather Reveices The Eddy Christiani Award

Being known for his versatility in the music world and also the guitar realms, guitar hero Steve Lukather once again received an acknowledgment because of his work for the music industry and guitar world. According to his official site, Luke will be handed the award on Saturday, April 3 2010 in Vlissingen, Holland and he will be receiving it during the prize's first lustrum (haven't figure out what that means actually).

Moreover according to the site, beside receiving an award Luke will also do a performance at the event with the accompany of some local dutch musicians. Here is the confirmation about the ex-TOTO guitarist's activities at the event, "Poppuntzeeland is very proud to receive guitar legend Steve Lukather. On April 3 he will perform after the traditional Bandstafette together with the keyboard player with roots in Zeeland Jeroen Rietbergen, bass player Michel van Schie, drummer Ton Dijkman and vocalist Bert Heerink."

Luke himself was excited about receiving the award and doesn't forget to say his gratitude to the people that give him the prize. "I am deeply honored to get this award. I hope I can live up to what it means. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul," Luke said.

The award itself is a prize initiated by poppuntzeeland and given to guitar players they think have done lots of positive thing in the international pop business and also contributes to the development of electrical guitar music. Before Luke, there were also other guitar players that have received the award, they are: Leendert Haaksma (2006), Dany Lademacher (2007), Adrian Vandenberg (2008) and Jan Akkerman (2009).
