An exciting news arrives for Eric Clapton's fans in the U.S. as the blues guitar legend is set to do a special appearance at a new TV program. Revealing the news on his official site, Eric stated that he will be a guest star for Bruce Hornsby as they will be performing on Jay Leno Show.

Some exciting things that Marty will do are, being featured on 2 episodes of BS-Japan's "Sweet Jam", Having his soundtrack aired on NHK Drama "Hakken no Oscar" and also the most exciting one is performing with Japan's top singer Aikawa Nanase on stage at C.C. Lemmon Hall Tokyo on September 9.

On the first activities, which is being featured on "Sweet Jam", the guitarist's official site revealed that show itself will show a rare look on Marty's personal life. Not only that on the 2 episodes show that will be aired on Thursdays (September 17 and September 24) at 10 P.M. local time.

As for the story behind Marty's participation on the local Japan Drama, "Hakken no Oscar", the ex-Megadeth guitarist's site revealed that Marty has actually recorded music for the Drama soundtrack since earlier this summer. New updates comes from Swedish guitar virtuoso Mattias Ia Eklundh as he announced another new projects from him that are ready to be released. Mattias revealed that a new Tuition Album is set to be drop to the market soon.

An exciting news comes for Mattias Ia Eklundh's fans as the Swedish guitarist announced that he is set to release some new projects this year. The projects that he will be dropping this year are a new tuition album and his band, Freak Kitchen's new record.

On the tuition album titled "Freak Guitar - Grow Your Own Mousthace Vol 2", Mattias explained on the site that the record which will be available to purchase on line through his official site, is set to be as good as the first volume. "It will consist of equally challenging, slightly mad exercises as the first edition (to put it mildly) squeezed into a whole bunch of backing tracks with and without guitar, page up and page down of fine notation plus a neat cover to wrap it all into," Mattias explained about the new record.

Despite already confirming that the tuition album will be released this year, Mattias hasn't really set any fixed release date yet for the record. He only stated that it will be available for purchase and download this fall via Freakkitchen.com

The re-united rockers have already set up the dates for their promised South East Asian tour. The band will be heading to the continent after finishing their upcoming European tour and look to have a full busy months ahead.

Exciting news arrives again for Mr. Big fans in Asia as the band are set to fulfill their promise in hitting the continent once again for a reunion tour. According to the band's official site the rockers will be playing about 8 shows in Asia, starting at Banglore, India on October 10 and set to end in Seoul, South Korea on October 25.

However, despite announcing the country and city where the band prepares their Asian stint, the "To Be With You" hit makers haven't really set the venues for the shows. Giving more details about the upcoming Asian tour, the band will be playing in for cities in India, one in Thailand, a trip back to Indonesia, where they will hit Bali before taking the stage for two shows at Seoul.

Before kicking the stages in Asia, the band are also scheduled to do a pretty hectic tour in Europe, which will start on September 4 at Rock Cafe, Tallinn, Estonia and set to end on October 1 at Universiada Hall, Sofia Bulgaria. This trip would also be the band's first tour in Europe after deciding to re-unite after breaking up in 2002.

Mr. Big started their reunion tour in Japan sometime in early June, where they also recorded on of the show at Budokan for a Live DVD that will be release on September 9 in Japan. According to the guitar master's official site, Marty will be making an In-Store appearances on Saturday, August 29 at Rock Inn in Shijuku and on the next day, August 30 at Rock Inn in Kashiwa.

On both appearances, that will began at 5 P.M. (Local Time) Marty will be doing some activities such as a meet and greet session, a Q and A session and also performing songs from his new record. The tracks that Richie, streamed were a blues-rock track titled "Paying Dues" and a cool bluesy ballad "Lie to Me".

The two new songs still show's RK's rock-blues blend that he works on on these days, "Paying Dues" is sort of like his "Go Faster" while "Lie to Me" sounds beautiful just like so many of his ballads. Sad day arrives for guitar world as they has lost one of their legends once again. On Thursday, August 13, legendary guitarist Les Paul has passed away at the age of 94, leaving the guitar legacy mourn once again.

August 13 was dubbed as a sad day for many guitar players and lovers as on that day another guitar legend has passed away. Lester William Polsfuss or many people known as Les Paul, has died leaving sad tears of many musicians and current guitar heroes, who always remembered his legacy.

The guitar legend died because of complications from pneumonia at a White Plains hospital located in White Plains, New York. On his last day, he was surrounded with the affection of his family and loved ones who stayed with him at the hospital.

Les Paul's death, bring griefs to many renown guitar players as soon after the news of his death emerged many fellow guitarists saluted the legend by giving their words of tribute which can be seen at Rollingstone.com . Famous names, such as Joe Satriani, Slas, John Mayer, Tom Morello and Ace Frehley all have their own memories of the Les Paul. One quote by Joe at Rollinstone said, "Les Paul set a standard for musicianship and innovation that remains unsurpassed. He was the original guitar hero, and the kindest of souls. Last October I joined him onstage at The Iridium club in NYC, and he was still shredding. He was and still is an inspiration to us all."


Les Paul was not only known for his amazing guitar playing but also his innovation on the guitar industry, especially the famous Gibson guitar that he designed with the guitar company and later named the Gibson "Les Paul" model. The guitar becomes one of the most popular and used guitars until these days, undoubtedly that should make Les Paul's contribution such an immense to the world of guitar.

Starting his musical career at the age of 13, by becoming a country guitarist semi-professionally before finally taking it as a serious career by the time he's 17. Beside being the one responsible over the creation of the famous Gibson Les Paul guitar, one of the legendary guitarist's notable innovation was the usage of multi-track recording in a song. After streaming a first live footage clip of their recent concert, Shred Metal band Dragonforce have now released the second video of their live footage. The second clip, sees the band playing one of their hit songs "Heroes of Our Time".


Taking a short break after their latest "Ultra Beatdown" tour, British Speed Metal act Dragoforce, uses their time to release some live footage from the tour. After releasing the first footage on August 5, on August 12, the band released their second video via their official YouTube site.

On their second footage, the band were seen playing one of their hit tracks "Heroes of Our Time" in front on a live audience at Graspop, not only that on the midway of the video the rockers also inserted a short footage of their performance at Wacken while performing "The Last Journey Home".

Meanwhile, as for their first clip that got released on August 5, Dragonforce showed their live shows while performing "Through the Fire and Flames" and "The Warrios Inside". On the first clip, Herman Li act as the Video Jockey and presenting the footage, while for the second video, Sam Totman and Vadim Pruzhanov were the ones dubbed as the VJ.

The legendary rockers announced a bad news for their fans as they stated that the remaining dates for their U.S. tour has been canceled. According to the band's official statement the cause of the cancellation is the illness that happened to their vocalist David Coverdale.

According to the band's official site and also their guitarist, Doug Aldrich's official MySpace page, the reason for the cancellation is because of David Coverdale's illness that occurs on their latest concert at .

Revealing about the problem Dave is having, the band's official statement stated, "Unfortunately, last night at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, Whitesnake had to cut their performance short due to Mr Coverdale experiencing considerable pain in his vocal chords. He was immediately taken to a specialist for examination." Moreover, the site also said that, "The specialist discovered that David was suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion."

Because of the illness Dave's having, the band have to postpone all of the remaining shows, starting from their concert on August 13 at Nokia Live Theatre, Grand Praire TX. In total there will be 8 shows that the band canceled due to this problem, stating their apologize on the site the rockers also stated, "Whitesnake sincerely regrets any disappointment this may cause."

Meanwhile,Doug himself also reflect his disappointment about the cancellation of the band's shows by stating his apologize to his fans via his MySpace page. "Whitesnake has regretfully had to cancel the remaining shows. David visited a doctor and the specialist discovered that he was suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion. He has to cancel tours for 2 weeks & the undergo further examination. Sorry guys!" Doug wrote.

The Swedish-born guitar hero announced that he will be releasing two now albums soon. The first is a new CD with his band Freak Kitchen, which is set to be dropped this fall ant the second one will his solo record which will be outed next year.

It looks like this coming months will be a busy time for Swedish guitar master Mattias Ia Eklundh, as he beside having lots of clinic and shows he is also working on two new albums. Revealing the news on his official website, Mattias stated that he will be dropping one record with his band Freak Kitchen and the other one is a solo record.

Explaining more about his upcoming album with Freak Kitchen, Mattias said that the new record will be named "Land of the Freaks" consisting of 12 new tracks and it is set to be dropped this fall. Meanwhile, for his upcoming solo album, Mathias stated that the record will be named Freak Guitar - "The Smorgasbord", however due to his hectic schedule, "The Smorgasbord" would probably be released in 2010.

Moreover, revealing more details about his new solo record, Mattias stated that on "The Smorgasbord", he is working with lots of great musicians such as, Björn Fryklund, V. Selvaganesh, Jonas Hellborg. Beside them, the guitarist also said that he will be assisted by many guitar players on the new LP, "A whole bunch of amazing guitar playing friends will participate on the album," he said.

Beside preparing for his albums, Mattias is currently busy doing tours for shows and clinic, his closest show schedule is on August 15 in Jonkoping, Sweden. According to his tour dates which is listed on his site, the guitar virtuoso's trip will end on November 28 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The reunited rock act really rocked Jakarta on August 8 at the Javarockinland festival held in Ancol, Jakarta. The band consist of Paul Gilbert, Eric Martin, Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey stunned the crowd with their kick ass performance and amazing musical skills

As it was confirmed before, reunited super rock group Mr. Big kept their promise and rock out their fans in Indonesia at the new music festival dubbed the Javarockingland 2009. Mr. Big appearance at the event was to mark their recent reunion and as the follow up of their recent reunion tour in Japan. The rock act, is actually very familiar to Indonesian crowd as they have been there more than once and the rockers fans' in the country are undoubtedly large. As once again the band proves that making great and skillful music can get you respect and joy no matter where you are as true fans will always be there to support your music.

After their show, the band will take a short rest before continuing their reunion tour to Europe that will start in September. According to their official site, the rock act will kick off their European leg on September 4 in Tallin, Estonia and set to end on October 1 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The show is a tribute to ManDoki Soulmates where Steve will be playing songs from Mandoki along with other musician, such as Al Di Meola, David Clayton-Thomas, Peter Maffay, Bill Evans, Chris Thompson, Randy Brecker.


An exciting news comes from guitar legend Steve Lukather, as according to his official website, Steve is being tapped to perform at ManDoki Soulmates concert. The ex-Toto guitarist won't be performing alone as he will be joined by other renown musicians such as,Al Di Meola, David Clayton-Thomas, Peter Maffay, Bill Evans, Chris Thompson and Randy Brecker.

On the show that is being set to kick off on August 28 at the O2 World Music Club in Berlin, Germany, Steve will be playing songs from ManDoki instead of his own tracks. This is simply due to the fact that, the guitar master's performance along with other musicians are simply a tribute to the ManDoki.

Beside preparing to perform at the ManDoki special concert, Luke is also gearing for another special appearance at the James Burton International Guitar Festival on August 22. Aside from those two shows above, Steve will also play three more shows in October, the first two will be performances with his son Trev, on October 16 at Brixton South Bay, Redondo Beach, CA and on Octber 17 at Coach House, San Juan Capistrano, CA. The last gig that month will be a special concert as it his a show to celebrate Luke's Birthday, which will be staged at The Roxy, Hollywood CA on October 21.

After finishing his latest Asian Clinic Tour, guitar master Andy Timmons is set to return to the continent, Japan precisely as he prepared a tour there. The guitarist is ready to rock the Japan crowd with his band, the ATB (Andy Timmons Band) which consist of Mike Daane on bass and Mitch Marine on drums.


Having already finished his Asian Clinic tour on July 29, Andy Timmons looked set to do a tour in Asia as the guitar virtuoso stated on his official site that he will fly to Japan this September. According to the site Andy will be performing seven shows at the Samurai country, starting from September 15 at Fukuoka Gate's 7 and set to end on September 22 in Sendai.

On the tour Andy is definitely being accompanied by his colleagues from ATB (Andy Timmons Band), which consists of Mike Daane (bass) and Mitch Marine (drums). Writing on his site the former Danger Danger guitarist expressed his excitement, stating "I'm completely pumped to finally play in Japan w/the ATB! It's also great to be reuniting w/Mitch for these shows."

Moreover Andy also hinted to the fans that he and his band are currently working on new songs that will be put out in his new record. "We'll definitely play a lot of our classic tunes as well as new tunes were working on for the new CDs," Andy wrote on the site.

Meanwhile just before his upcoming Japan tour in September, Andy will take a short tip to Vancouver, Canada where he is scheduled to do another guitar clinic there. The guitar maestro is tapped as one of the guitarists that will do a master class at the city on August 12. The clinic itself is a program set by Guitar Workshop Plus, beside Andy there are other guitar virtuosos that will also join hims, such as Paul Gilbert and Greg Howe.

The legendary guitar player announced another new show for his fans, by confirming that he will be playing with Imelda Bay Band this September. The concert is set to be held at the famous IndigO2 stage in London on September 21st.


Having a busy tour schedule this year doesn't seem to stop guitar master Jeff Beck as he stated that he will be adding another special show this September. Announcing the news at his official website, Jeff confirmed that On September 21, he will be playing with Imelda Bay Band.

Moreover as it was stated on the guitar legend's official site, the concert will be staged at IndigO2 at the O2 London. The ticket price for the show will be varied, according to the seats, here as it as follows:Floor standing £25, Kings Row £40, Balcony seated £35, Balcony standing £15.

Celebrating the recent birthday of two notable guitarists from two famous bands, Bon Jovi and Eagles, Lick Library announced the release of their new guitar tutorial DVD that will give pleasure to those bands' devotees. According to Lick Library's official site the new DVD's were released in the celebration of the birthday for both band's guitarists, Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) and Don Henley (Eagles).

For the Learn to Play Like Bon Jovi DVD, Lick Library stated that fans will be given the opportunity to learn note per note of hit songs from Bon Jovi and definitely Richie's guitar playing. Moreover the songs that will be featured on the two DVD sets are Livin’ On A Prayer, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Bad Medicine, You Give Love A Bad Name and Blaze Of Glory.
