As it seems like the issues has gone quiet for sometime, but latest news just arrived again regarding the copyright infringement case between Coldplay and Joe Satriani as the case has now reached the L.A. court. According to Billboard.com, the English band's attorneys still denies any copyright issues that was addressed to them by the guitar virtuoso.
The band's attorney stated to the court that there are not enough similarities between Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" with Joe's "If I Could Fly" that could cause ingfridement issues. Moreover, the attorneys wen't on to attack, the guitar legend's song to be "lack of originality" and for that it shouldn't even received a copyright protection.
Meanwhile, answering this denial and insane counter attact, Joe's attorney Howard E. King replied that Coldplay's defense is a normal thing to be done in such case and also adding that the problem could've been easily done without any lawsuit. The case itself occured in December last year, as Joe suid the band, claiming that they have used "substantial, original portions" of his "If I Could Fly" song on their "Viva la Vida".
In a previous interview, Joe stated that he wasn't actually aware of the problem and it was his fans who tipped him off by mailing him and stating that Colplay's new track was so similar to his song. "from the minute their song came out, my e-mail box flooded with people going, 'Have you heard this song by Coldplay? They ripped you off man.' I mean, I couldn't tell you how many e-mails I received," Joe said to Music Radar.
Meanwhile, Coldplay themselves denies that they ripped off Joe's song in purpose and claims that any similirarities are purely a coincidence. Explaining it to the press, the band's vocalist Chris Martin said earlier, "If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are entirely coincidental, and just as surprising to us as to him. Joe Satriani is a great musician, but he did not write or have any influence on the song Viva La Vida. We respectfully ask him to accept our assurances of this and wish him well with all future endeavors.

We at Guitar Legends are honored to received an award from our blogger friend Aan, which was given by another friend Kifni. Though this blog's purpose is not to seek or look for many awards, still we appreciated our friends acknowledgments to us. So in receiving this award one must tell the reason they made the blog. Here goes a short story from Guitar Legends.
This blog is basedly created as a means to fulfiled our interest and hobby of music and guitars, so starting in January 2009 with some discussion and preparations we finally launched the blog as an effort to promote and give news about great guitar players and their projects to all of the people all around the world. However beside our noble purpose, we honestly admits that we are also looking for some cash through the blog, and though it hasn't give us much we do hope in time we can get more trust and received an appropriate outcome based on our works.
We know it won't be easy, especially with the financial crisis these days to get alot out of blogging, and getting sponsors to support the blog, we hope that we can keep on providing info and news to all music lovers and also keep promoting works from great guitarists and band out there.
We hope this award could at least help people to ackowledge this blog and the work that we have done till this date to promote amazing and maybe unheard music from great musicians. Once again we appriciated this lovely gift and that's our story.

Moreover, Paul also revealed his coolest experience while using that guitar stating, "I remember playing that guitar on the Tonight Show, doing a song called "Just Take My Heart" that had a really clean sound. It just sounded beautiful on that. There was no channel switching necessary. I just plugged it into a cranked up Marshall, turned the volume down, and got this beautiful, clear, shimmering sound. Of course when you crank it up, it was total metal." He then added, "So that was the guitar that my hands have spent the most time on out of any of the PGMs. I think my chest cavity has modified to its shape. It's a very very dear guitar to me. Still taking a break from his current band DC4 promo schedule, doesn't mean that rock guitarist Rowan Robertson taking the time off from the music world as he uses his spare time to work on a movie soundtrack. The soundtrack that he will start to work on April 4 to 8 won't be a new one as he is continuing the previous project that he did for an indie movie called "Dirty Step Upstage".Previously Rowan has actually did work on a soundtrack for the movie, which was titled "I Kissed a Girl in the Red Dress" where Rowan filled in the solo guitar part for the song. It seems that the movie producers were pleased by Rowan's work so they asked him to lend his hand again on the finishing touch for the movie.
However unlike when he was finishing his previous project for the movie on which he was working alone, for the upcoming instrumental project Rowan won't be working by himself as according to the press release on his official MySpace page. For the next scoring production for the movie, Rowan will be accompanied by his old friend a concert violist Juliette Primrose.
Juliette herself has also worked with Rowan on his band DC4's latest record "Explode" in which she showed her stringed qualities on a song titled "This Is What You Wanted".
