Eric Johnson to Mix New Album, Prepares Mini Tour

The legendary guitarist looked set to release his new album as report stated that the recording process is done and only need to be mix, awaiting for that he plans to do a mini tour this year.

An exciting news comes for Eric Johnson fans, as the guitar maestro revealed that his new album is almost done and he will be doing a mini tour this August. Revealing the news on his official site, Eric confirm about the working process of his new record and his excitement in getting back on stage saying, "I’ve spent the last year and a half in the studio, and I really want to get up on stage and do some playing."

Despite revealing that the new album's recording process is finished, Eric hasn't confirmed about the possible release date or even the title of the upcoming record. However the guitar legend's site did revealed that the mixing for the new album will be done by three renown engineers of contemporary music, which are George Massenberg, Gary Paczosa and Andy Johns.

Speaking about the upcoming mini tour, the site also announced that Eric and his band the Alien Love Child will he hitting three venues starting from August 25, where they will be performing at the Aztec Theater San Antonio,TX. The other two dates for the tour will be staged at the House of Blues (HOB), the second gig set to be staged at HOB Houston on August 26 and the second one at HOB Dallas on August 27.

Although Eric hasn't revealed much details about his upcoming new record, one thing that fans can be sure that the new album will still have the essence of Eric and his band's musical method, which is spontaneous and full of emotion. The majority of the music we make is spontaneous and fueled by the emotion of the three of us playing together. It’s fun and the vehicle is a really cool way to just make music," Eric said about the music he makes.
