Eric Johnson to Play at Bastrop Jazz Jam

After performing at the Dallas guitar show on April 17, guitar legend Eric Johnson adds another show on his schedule as he announced on his official site that he plans to perform at the annual Boys and Girls Club Bastrop Jazz Jam. The event will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 6:30- 10:00 PM at a beautiful setting behind Lakeside Professional Building, 3101 Highway 71 East in Bastrop.

Making the event more special, in case there will be rain, the event will be held indoors at the Bastrop 9th Grade Campus gymnasium, 1602 Hill Street (at Cedar St.). Attendants will also be provided with a good dinner at the show and for all of those special features, fans will only pay about $50 each. The tickets can be purchased through Boys and Girls club's representative Andie at 512-321-6676 or just send an email to fundraiserBCG@yahoo.com.

Beside Eric, other jazz musicians that will be performing at the event are, Bobby Broom, Hannibal Lokumbe (trumpet formerly with Gil Evans and Pharoah Sanders), Rick McRae (guitar with George Strait), Chris Maresh (bass with Eric Johnson), Bill Maddox (drums with Eric Johnson), Paul Glasse (mandolin), Alex Coke (sax and bass flute), Liz Morphis (vocals). This huge line-up would definitely bring lots of fun and excitement to all music especially jazz fans.

Meanwhile, in other news, at a recent interview with guitarmessenger on October 18, Eric hinted to public that he is currently working on a new record that should be dropped this year. "I’m still thinking about what I’m gonna call it, but I’m probably 2/3 finished with it, 3/4 finished with it. We’re gonna have it out sometime early next year," Eric said on the interview.
