Paul Gilbert Introduces New Gears

After finishing his hectic NAMM dates, guitar master, Paul Gilbert uses a little bit of his time to introduce his new gears this year via his official website. On the site, Paul revealed that he has four new musical items that fans can also have in store this year, they are two new guitars Ibanez PGM401 and PGM100RE and to new guitar effects, the Airplane Flanger and Detox EQ.

Explaining about the PGM401, Paul revealed the details of the new product writing that it has a late 80's Ibanez neck joint, DiMarzio Air Classics pickups, the essential F-holes and other unique features that you can chek out here. As for the PGM100RE, is actually a re-issued of his classic guitar that he used to use durin his Mr Big days, the details about the classic PG's gear can be viewed here.

Meanwhile as for the new Airplane Flanger, PG stated that the new effect that he works with Ibanez is the "coolest flanger that he has ever heard". The new rack two sections named "Taxi" and "Take Off". Taxi offers a wide range of traditional flange sounds. Shimmering chorus-like flanging, moving "talkbox" sounds, metallic filter matrix tones, and wild effects like police sirens, while Take Off takes overs the guitar signal and producing a massive, pitch-shifting note, filled with great sounding harmonics. sort of like like an "auto-whammy" Paul wrote on his site. As for the Detox EQ, Paul stated that it "is the highest quality EQ pedal available anywhere. It's super quiet, has a total bypass footswitch, and most importantly... sounds great." More details about the Detox EQ can be read here
Beside promoting his new gears, Paul is also preparing himself to hit the road again next month. In early February he will be heading for Japan to do a concert as a bid to promote his new CD "United States. After that in late February and early March, the ex-Mr Big guitarist will be playing with Richie Kotzen and George Lynch in a new guitar project dubbed the Guitar Generation.
